Today Commissioner Nicolas Schmit presented his workprogram for 2021 in the employment & social affairs committee. It's time to work for decent conditions of work for EU citizen and to increase workers rights in a time of crisis and environmental and digital transition.
I will closely work together with my Colleague Nicolas Schmit for strong measures in favor of workers rights, equal treatment at work and to leave no one behind throughout the current transition we are facing.
The S&D priorities are clear:
👉 pay transparency directive to fight against gender pay gap but also discrimination against people with disability,
👉carcinogens and mutagens directive to grant safety at work for all workers,
👉 platform workers directive to fight against sub category of workers and to grant fair working conditions, decent pay and social protection for all EU workers,
👉 the future disability strategy post 2020 which is crucial to reach the UNCRPD objectives.
